Castle Rock
Great trek but so worth it. Most beautiful scenery and sights from the top. Definitely an experience not to be missed. However, need to be reasonably fit/agile or able to walk up a constant incline for 2.2km...

Nice set up at the car park with toilet facilities. Best part is the walk (2km steep) to Granite Skywalk. Come prepared for a 2 hour hike.

Walked to and climbed this incredible place today. It's a long walk but so worth it. It was quite busy at the the top with a queue, so had to wait for ones turn to climb the ladder to experience the final stage.

Website says moderate fitness needed. Keyboard warriors need more. 2.2 km one way. To reach the top and see the gorgeous view, a fair amount of dexterity needed to scale some boulders and climb a vertical ladder. No harness given. We took 3.5 hours in total and had sore knees but totally worth it. Not recommended if U fear heights.

Granite Skywalk is the walkway on top of Castle Rock. When Googling directions, use Castle Rock" not "Granite Skywalk" as the road directions on Google Maps will put you on the unsealed Millinup Road which leads to a private property. The walk itself is hard but not difficult. There is a choice of lookouts when you get to the end of the walk. The easier Karri lookout or the fun Castle Rock Summit if you are not scared of heights. The views are definitely worth the effort to get up there!"

one of the best things of our trip thus far. With a newborn strapped to my husbands chest we did it in 1hr 45 min at a somewhat fast pace but we seen people of all ages and abilities doing the walk. there are 2 lookouts. one which requires bouldering and the other that is accessible via the path. I was a bit scared doing the boulders but it’s honestly not to bad. My husband came up with our bub strapped to his chest and she loved it. I had to pump myself up to do it but it’s worth it. the only thing was the number of huge trees that have been cut down was sad and we weren’t sure why? if it was just to make the path?

It’s a 2.2km hike one way, so 4.4km return trip.Class 4 walking trail finished with class 5 up to the platform. I am not an active person but I could do it. You only have to use your hands at the last climb and there are hand rails and supports everywhere. I did not struggle. The views are amazing but it was extremely busy. Lots of children. One person up and one person down at a time. There was a cue of 30 people. A bit disappointed with the amount of rubbish as well. The park grounds had beautiful facilities and parking is a credit card machine. $15 day pass per vehicle. The bush land is beautiful. I would do it again but maybe not during school holidays.

Castle Rock is the ultimate destination for nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The hike itself is relatively easy and well-suited for beginners, winding through lush woodland with plenty of shade from tall trees. But what makes this hike truly spectacular are the jaw-dropping views you'll discover at the top. From here, you can gaze out over an incredible landscape dotted with sparkling lakes, verdant meadows, and rugged mountain vistas. There's also plenty of parking and clean toilets available, making it a perfect spot for a picnic or relaxing day spent in nature. This is truly one of the best hikes around!

If you survive the 2.2km hike up the fairly steep and rugged (at times) dirt/rocky track and then scramble yourself over some challenging rocky outcrops (there are some handles in the rocks to help) and then up a ladder, you will be rewarded with some fantastic views which is truely worth it. There is a $15 per car fee which needs to be paid before heading off. I suggest you leave yourself plenty of time and that you carry some food and plenty of water.

It’s a wonderful 4.4 km hike with tree shades along the way. Going up the hill isn’t so easy but slow and steady you’ll get there . The view is worth the hike for sure .
